Worship Pastor

Role Overview

Southside Baptist Church is searching for a passionate Worship Pastor to lead our congregation in authentic, Christ-centered worship. This role is all about creating a dynamic and engaging worship experience, fostering a thriving music ministry, and inspiring others to use their musical talents for God’s glory. You'll work closely with our pastor and leadership team to cultivate a worship culture that encourages participation, spiritual growth, and a deep connection with God.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A growing, mature Christian with a heart for worship and a love for people.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills to build and lead worship.
  • Musical talent (instrumental and/or vocal) with a passion for worship excellence.
  • A gift for administration, encouragement, and pastoral care within the worship ministry.
  • Experience in music ministry preferred but not required—heart and dedication matter most!

Your Impact:

  • Lead & Develop: Direct the worship experience, from leading the congregation in song to mentoring and equipping musicians, vocalists, and the choir.
  • Inspire & Grow: Build and strengthen the adult choir, recruit and develop the church orchestra, and encourage consistent participation in worship.
  • Plan & Collaborate: Work alongside the pastor to plan worship services and special events. Coordinate with administrative assistant to ensure timely preparation for worship and rehearsals. Obtain and maintain copyright use agreements (CCLI) for music used.
  • Engage & Serve: Minister to the church family through music, outreach, and pastoral care—visiting and supporting those who are hospitalized or homebound.
  • Oversee & Innovate: Manage the music ministry’s operations and planning including working with the staff committee to form goals, finance committee to plan for budget and spending needs, and A/V team to assess technology needs.
  • Celebrate & Lead Special Moments: Assist in planning and leading worship for weddings, funerals, Vacation Bible School, and special church events.
  • Driven by Team Vision: Perform other duties as assigned by the head pastor to further enhance the ministries of Southside Baptist Church.
